I am currently taking classes to become a certified doula, or "labor support person". I will be done with my classes at the end of January, and will then be available to attend births as labor support. If there is anyone that has the need for someone, you can contact me. I think the help can be in many ways, first time parents, unwed mothers, women who have deployed husbands...etc... Really, anyone who would just like some additional support. I have two kids myself, one was a c/section, and then a vbac (natural, unmedicated birth) afterwards, so I have experience with both ends of the spectrum. This is a service free of charge. I received this from my sister Karen who asked me to post her need on our church website. I am a member of EagleBrook. My sister and her family are also Christians, but go to a small church without such services. Our daughter Sarah is 8 years old and had a cancerous brain tumor removed on December 18th, 2011. She recovered well from the surgery and my husband and I sought prayer first in determining our course of treating her cancer. We have had 4 people who are all profephic tell us that they believe Sarah would be completely healed from this surgery. I was praying 2 weeks ago asking God to heal her quickly and I heard 2 weeks. This week (2 weeks later) we found from an MRI of her brain and spine that there is no sign of tumor regrowth and no sign of cancer at all. She also had a spinal tap done and the fluid was completely free of cancerous cells. Then on Thursday we went to our non-traditional doctor who uses keneasology and with his exam he said that the cancer is gone. They all say that there could be cells remaining, but in just 2 weeks of treating her with a Rife Machine (long story), there has been incredible success. The problem that we face is that the treatment that we are using is not traditional. We feel led by God to continue on this track, but the Oncologist is pressuring us to use Chemo and Radiation to treat Sarah. Because of the sensativity of the brain, there are high risks for hearing loss, learning disability, later skin cancer, a 2nd tumor developing, drugs needed to bring on normal things like puberty and there is likely a 50% chance that she would be left infertile. While we want to ensure her the best chance of a full recovery, it appears that what we are doing is working. We have also cut out sugar completely, we are feeding her a diet of alkalizing vegtables, juicing organic vegtables and some fruits, and giving her flax seed oil and flax seed ground up daily. The man we have treating her is also a Christian. When we were talking about the improvements in her walking (she came out of surgery with balance issues and vision problems which have both been improving greatly since using the Rife Machine), Dr. Conners said that we will treat her with the Rife Machine but that in the end, all the glory goes to God. Our need arises because we have been turned into Child Protective Services because we want to try to treat her without leaving her damaged by the horrible traditional treatment. We believe God will not bring her to this point only to have the state force chemo and radiation on us, and I am praying that we won't have to go to court. But if we do, we need legal counsil. If there is an attorney out there who feels led to represent us, we would not have the means to do this without taking on debt. Please pray about this and let us know if you would be able to help. I feel led to mention that in all of the pain that we have obviously gone through, there are now SO many blessings along the way. I've been saying lately that my daughter has cancer and I've never been happier in my life. We've been sourrounded by our families, our church family, our daughters school and our friends. We've never felt so much love ever. We have a family at our church praying and I know before this, their 8 year old daughter didn't know what prayer was. My daughter Sarah has a strong desire to witness and I believe this will be her testimony. What is happening is a miracle, God is AMAZING! Karen Parisian

My husband is back in school first day today, I have MS so I am limited as to what I can do around the apartment. My oldest daughter is in school from 9 to 4, my middle child is in school from 9 to 11:30. What I need the most help with is making and preparing meals for my family. My grandparents are both handicapped and retired. Their income is small and very limited. My grandmother is wheelchair bound and has only one leg while my grandfather uses a cane and wears a leg brace every day. They are not ready to go into assisted living, yet and are looking for a mobility van to be donated to them.
